Responsibilities
- Design & Architecture: Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex enterprise systems and network infrastructure for city agencies.
- System Optimization: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and optimize resources to ensure 99.9% uptime for critical government services.
- Security Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols to meet federal, state, and local government compliance standards (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC2).
- Project Leadership: Guide technical teams through the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to deployment.
- Legacy Modernization: Oversee the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud-based architectures, ensuring data integrity and minimal service disruption.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate and manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure optimal value and performance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in systems engineering, network architecture, or cloud infrastructure.
- Tech Stack: Deep expertise in AWS or Azure, Linux administration, and virtualization technologies.
- Government Experience: Prior experience working within the public sector or with government contracts is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, CISSP, or PMP are a plus.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
