Responsibilities
- Analyze zoning regulations and development proposals for compliance with LA General Plan
- Lead community outreach initiatives for major infrastructure projects
- Prepare environmental impact reports (CEQA) and land use documents
- Coordinate with state/federal agencies on transportation and housing initiatives
- Advise City Council on urban development policy recommendations
- Manage project budgets and timelines for planning initiatives
- Mentor junior planning staff on technical procedures
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of municipal planning experience in California
- Expert knowledge of CEQA and California Planning/Zoning laws
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and planning databases
- Strong public speaking and stakeholder engagement skills
- Valid California driver's license
- Professional AICP certification preferred
