Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) across state facilities.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software technical issues for internal staff efficiently.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive government data and systems.
- Collaborate with external vendors to ensure optimal performance of third-party software and hardware solutions.
- Conduct regular system backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery protocols are active.
- Provide technical training and guidance to junior staff and non-technical department personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all state IT policies, security standards, and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT support, network administration, or system analysis.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for translating technical jargon to non-technical users.
- Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary security clearances for government work.
