Responsibilities
- Design, install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) for state agencies.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
- Ensure data security by enforcing access controls, firewalls, and encryption protocols compliant with state standards.
- Provide technical support and training to government staff regarding hardware and software usage.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade legacy systems and integrate modern cloud solutions.
- Document all technical procedures and network configurations for future reference.
- Respond to emergency service requests and outages with urgency and precision.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in network administration or systems support within a corporate or government setting.
- Valid CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
