Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and server hardware to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect sensitive government data and prevent cyber threats.
- Configure and troubleshoot operating systems, including Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Collaborate with IT teams to plan, design, and upgrade legacy systems for improved efficiency.
- Provide technical support and training to non-technical staff members across various state agencies.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance analysis to identify areas for optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and firewall technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for liaising with stakeholders.
