Responsibilities
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) across the Detroit facility.
- Provide Level 2 technical support to government staff, resolving hardware and software issues efficiently.
- Monitor system performance and implement security protocols to protect sensitive state data.
- Perform regular backups and ensure data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
- Collaborate with agency leadership to identify technical needs and implement cost-effective solutions.
- Conduct training sessions for new employees on departmental software and hardware systems.
- Document all technical procedures, changes, and incidents in the central IT database.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
- Certification in CompTIA A+ or Network+ is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in IT support or systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Active Directory management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to pass a State of Michigan background check and drug screening.
