Responsibilities
- System Design & Architecture: Analyze complex business requirements and design scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions to support state operations.
- Technical Support & Maintenance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot critical issues, and implement patches or updates to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with department heads, developers, and external vendors to ensure technical projects align with state strategic goals.
- Data Management: Oversee data integrity, perform database migrations, and ensure compliance with state data privacy regulations.
- Project Management: Lead agile development sprints, manage timelines, and deliver software projects on budget and schedule.
- Cybersecurity: Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive government data from cyber threats.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in systems analysis, software development, or IT infrastructure.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Java, Python, or cloud platforms (AWS/Azure). Familiarity with government compliance standards (FISMA) is highly desirable.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical mindset with a proven track record of resolving complex technical challenges under pressure.
- Clearance: Ability to pass a standard background check and drug screening as required for state employment.
