Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of database systems and software solutions for state agencies.
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and code.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure security compliance and optimal performance.
- Mentor junior staff members and conduct technical training sessions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve user workflows.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables using Agile methodologies.
- Document system architecture and maintain detailed technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis, software development, or data engineering.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and data warehousing tools (e.g., Teradata, Snowflake).
- Experience working within a government or large enterprise environment is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain a valid Texas Driver’s License (if required for travel).
