Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical searches of passengers, baggage, and cargo using pat-down techniques and screening equipment
- Identify and respond to potential security threats, including prohibited items and suspicious behavior
- Communicate effectively with travelers to ensure smooth security checkpoint operations
- Maintain accurate records of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency responders during security incidents
- Adhere to TSA policies, procedures, and security protocols at all times
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if applicable to position duties)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn security screening technology
