The Role:
You will be responsible for the security of passengers, property, and aircraft at the airport. This involves screening passengers and property, operating X-ray equipment, and adhering to strict security protocols to ensure a safe travel environment.
Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using advanced imaging technology and X-ray equipment.
- Identify prohibited items and intercept threats to aviation security.
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining a professional and firm demeanor.
- Adhere to all TSA regulations, standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with fellow officers to maintain a secure and efficient checkpoint environment.
- Complete required training and certifications in security screening and emergency response.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship and the ability to pass a background investigation (including fingerprinting).
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
- Valid driver's license is preferred but not always required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours).
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
