Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening using advanced X-ray technology and manual inspection techniques
- Identify and report prohibited items or suspicious activities according to TSA protocols
- Operate security equipment including walk-through metal detectors, explosive trace detection systems, and CT scanners
- Provide courteous and efficient customer service while maintaining professional demeanor under pressure
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately in federal reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Adhere to all TSA Standard Operating Procedures and federal regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass TSA background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- Strong attention to detail with ability to identify anomalies
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Successful completion of TSA Security Training Academy
