Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners and metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items
- Perform physical pat-down searches and advanced imaging screenings following TSA protocols
- Analyze baggage and cargo using CT scanners and explosive detection systems
- Enforce security regulations while maintaining professional customer service standards
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities in TSA reporting systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Maintain equipment calibration and security checkpoint operational readiness
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass TSA background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
- Basic computer proficiency for screening equipment operations
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of TSA Security Officer Training Program
