Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough passenger and baggage screening using advanced X-ray equipment and manual search techniques
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious activities, and potential security threats
- Operate TSA technology systems including ETDs (Explosive Trace Detectors) and walk-through metal detectors
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and security reports
- Participate in continuous training on evolving security procedures and technologies
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Officer credential
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
