Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, baggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections as required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger information
- Identify and report prohibited items or suspicious activity to supervisors
- Maintain accurate security screening logs and incident reports
- Provide courteous customer service while enforcing security protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy for operating screening equipment
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
