Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other TSA screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct physical and electronic screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate screening documentation and incident reports
- Provide courteous passenger assistance during screening processes
- Participate in continuous training on security protocols and technology
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn complex systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
