Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray scanners and metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct physical pat-downs and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect suspicious items or behaviors
- Resolve conflicts with passengers professionally while maintaining security standards
- Complete incident reports and security documentation accurately
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security breaches or emergencies
- Maintain compliance with TSA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if applicable for checkpoint assignments)
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4-6 hour shifts)
- Basic computer skills for remote administrative tasks
- Ability to lift 70 pounds unassisted
- Must complete TSA Academy training program
