Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints and enforce TSA regulations with professionalism and courtesy
- Identify potential security threats through behavioral observation and anomaly detection
- Operate advanced screening technology while maintaining passenger flow efficiency
- Respond to security incidents and emergency situations following TSA protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
- Maintain accurate documentation of security screenings and incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Must pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security systems
