Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security technologies
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items and potential threats
- Enforce TSA security regulations and provide clear instructions to travelers
- Respond to security incidents and emergencies following established protocols
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security operations
- Maintain detailed records of screening activities and security breaches
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced security screening equipment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance (TSA clearance)
- High school diploma or equivalent education
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
