Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security technology
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and baggage inspections when required
- Identify and report suspicious items, activities, and security threats
- Enforce TSA security protocols and communicate procedures to travelers
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Operate airport terminal access control systems and monitor surveillance equipment
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
- Basic computer proficiency for equipment operation
