Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using TSA-provided equipment (X-ray machines, metal detectors, explosives trace detection)
- Conduct physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections according to security protocols
- Operate advanced imaging technology and communicate findings to supervisors
- Respond to security breaches and suspicious activity with appropriate escalation procedures
- Maintain accurate screening logs and documentation of security incidents
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing TSA regulations
- Participate in recurrent security training and equipment certification programs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (mandatory for federal employment)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Proficient in English communication (written and verbal)
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
