Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray and baggage screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Conduct thorough passenger screening using walk-through metal detectors and advanced imaging technology
- Perform physical pat-down searches and bag inspections as required by security protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining professional demeanor during interactions
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately in required systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Adhere strictly to TSA Standard Operating Procedures and federal security regulations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn screening technologies
- Excellent communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
