Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage using TSA-provided X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections per TSA protocols
- Operate electronic trace detection equipment for explosive residue analysis
- Monitor security checkpoints and report suspicious activities or items to supervisors
- Provide clear instructions to travelers during the screening process
- Maintain accurate records of screening activities and incident reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check and fingerprint-based criminal history check
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
