As a TSA Security Screener, you'll operate advanced screening equipment, conduct thorough passenger and baggage inspections, and enforce security protocols with professionalism and integrity. Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual inspection techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints and enforce TSA regulations with firmness and fairness
- Operate advanced detection equipment including millimeter wave scanners and trace detection devices
- Identify and respond to security threats while maintaining efficient passenger flow
- Document security incidents and report suspicious activities to supervisors
- Provide clear instructions to passengers during screening processes
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating agency vehicles)
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Successfully complete TSA training academy program
