Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using advanced X-ray and detection equipment
- Identify and resolve security threats while enforcing federal regulations
- Operate metal detectors, trace detection systems, and explosive detection devices
- Provide exceptional customer service to diverse travelers during security screenings
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate operational records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
- Conduct random baggage inspections and pat-down searches as required
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- High school diploma or equivalent GED certification
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and security clearance
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Proficient in operating electronic screening equipment and technology
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of TSA Security Training Academy program
