Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, CT scanners, and trace detection equipment to screen passengers and carry-on luggage
- Conduct physical pat-downs and baggage searches according to TSA protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identities
- Respond to security alerts and suspicious items with calm, decisive action
- Maintain detailed logs of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security procedures
Qualifications
- US citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer proficiency with screening systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
