Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using TSA-provided X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections per TSA protocols
- Operate advanced imaging technology (AIT) and explosive detection systems
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screenings
- Provide clear instructions to travelers regarding security procedures
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid government-issued ID
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Ability to pass extensive background check and drug screening
- Must obtain and maintain Transportation Security Clearance (TSA)
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer literacy for reporting systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
