Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and manual inspection techniques
- Enforce TSA security regulations and procedures to detect prohibited items and potential threats
- Provide exceptional customer service to travelers while maintaining security protocols
- Operate and maintain screening equipment including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Document security incidents and suspicious activities according to TSA guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Participate in continuous training on emerging security threats and detection methods
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA security clearance
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security systems
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
