Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screenings of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray equipment and manual pat-down techniques
- Monitor checkpoints and detect suspicious items or behavior while maintaining professional demeanor under pressure
- Operate and maintain security screening technology including X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Enforce TSA regulations and security protocols while providing clear instructions to travelers
- Document security incidents and screening activities accurately in compliance with federal guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Maintain a clean and organized screening area to ensure operational efficiency
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background investigation and security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) with ability to read/write English proficiently
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail with ability to identify potential threats
- Basic computer proficiency for operating screening equipment and reporting systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Successful completion of TSA Security Training Academy within 6 months of hire
- Valid state driver's license (if required for shift rotations)
