Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough security screening of passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using advanced X-ray technology and pat-down procedures
- Operate walk-through metal detectors, trace detection equipment, and baggage screening systems
- Identify and report suspicious items or activities according to TSA protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strict security standards
- Complete detailed documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training on new security technologies and procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and security clearance
- Successfully complete TSA's training program and certification process
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Valid state driver's license and reliable transportation
