Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage at security checkpoints using advanced detection equipment
- Identify and prevent prohibited items from entering secure airport areas
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections when necessary
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection systems
- Maintain detailed security documentation and incident reports
- Provide clear instructions to travelers while enforcing TSA regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or U.S. National status required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Pass comprehensive background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA security clearance
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
