- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect and prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas
- Operate walk-through metal detectors and explosive trace detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches when necessary following TSA protocols
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security regulations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid California driver's license (if required for shift rotations)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for security documentation systems
