Join the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) as a Security Screener and play a vital role in ensuring the safety of travelers and the nation's transportation systems. We are seeking dedicated professionals to work at the Anchorage International Airport. As a Security Screener, you will be responsible for screening passengers, baggage, and cargo to detect and prevent prohibited items from entering secure areas. This is a full-time position with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines and metal detectors
- Perform pat-down searches and wand screenings as required
- Inspect checked baggage for prohibited items
- Monitor security screening equipment and ensure proper functioning
- Communicate effectively with passengers and colleagues
- Enforce TSA regulations and security protocols
- Document and report security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship is required
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
