Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual detection techniques
- Operate advanced security technology while maintaining strict protocols
- Conduct pat-down searches and baggage inspections as authorized
- Provide clear instructions to travelers during security procedures
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security escalations
- Stay current on TSA security regulations and threat detection methods
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass federal background check and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for airport access)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand/walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
- Pass TSA's Security Screening Skills Assessment (training provided)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
