Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection when required
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes for compliance with TSA regulations
- Identify and report suspicious items or activities to supervisory personnel
- Maintain accurate screening logs and incident reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport stakeholders during security incidents
- Provide excellent customer service to travelers during screening procedures
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in high-stress environments and follow strict protocols
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
