As a frontline defender, you'll work in a dynamic environment at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, screening passengers and baggage to detect threats. Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using X-ray machines and manual search techniques
- Identify and report prohibited items, suspicious behavior, and potential security threats
- Operate advanced security equipment including CT scanners and trace detection systems
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing security protocols
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Participate in regular security drills and training exercises
Qualifications
- US citizenship or legal resident status with required immigration documents
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass background check and security clearance
- Valid driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn new technologies
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness skills
