Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using advanced X-ray technology and metal detectors
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections following TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with appropriate escalation
- Operate complex security equipment including EDS systems and trace detection devices
- Enforce TSA security regulations while maintaining customer service excellence
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate checkpoint logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a background investigation
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours continuously)
- Valid U.S. driver's license or state-issued photo ID
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security software systems
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull heavy baggage carts
