Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual pat-down techniques
- Operate security equipment including metal detectors, baggage scanners, and explosive detection systems
- Conduct thorough bag searches and resolve alarms with professionalism and discretion
- Enforce TSA security protocols while maintaining excellent customer service during screening procedures
- Document security incidents and suspicious activity according to federal guidelines
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a federal background investigation
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Willingness to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency for security systems documentation
