Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray screening equipment to inspect carry-on and checked baggage for prohibited items while maintaining the flow of traffic.
- Physical Security: Perform physical searches of passengers and their belongings, including pat-downs and the use of walk-through metal detectors.
- Observation: Monitor screening lanes and observation points to identify behaviors or items that may pose a security risk.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with passengers, explaining screening procedures and resolving issues calmly and professionally.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all TSA directives, security protocols, and agency policies at all times.
- Collaboration: Work closely with team members to ensure efficient screening operations and a safe environment.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or a national, or lawfully admitted permanent resident alien.
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a background investigation, including a fingerprint check.
- Medical Standards: Must pass a medical examination and be able to perform the essential functions of the job (e.g., lifting, standing for long periods, walking).
- Legal Status: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years of age.
