Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Conduct thorough security checks on cargo, luggage, and personal items according to TSA protocols
- Monitor airport operations and identify suspicious activities or security threats
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security regulations with professionalism
- Operate and maintain screening equipment, reporting malfunctions immediately
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to resolve security incidents
- Document security breaches and suspicious activities in compliance with TSA guidelines
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn security screening technology
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- No felony convictions or significant misdemeanor offenses
