Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough screening of passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo using X-ray equipment and other security screening technologies.
- Perform physical pat-downs and bag searches on individuals and their belongings to identify prohibited items.
- Adhere to strict TSA security protocols and procedures at all times.
- Communicate effectively with travelers to explain security procedures and resolve issues calmly and professionally.
- Document all screening actions, incidents, and observations accurately in the required logs.
- Collaborate with fellow screeners and supervisors to maintain an efficient checkpoint flow.
- Remain alert and ready to respond to security threats or emergencies.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid Driver’s License (not required to operate screening equipment but necessary for transportation).
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background investigation, including a criminal history check.
- High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate.
- Ability to perform physical activities, including standing for long periods, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Good vision and the ability to distinguish colors are essential.
