Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on baggage, and cargo for explosives, weapons, and other prohibited items.
- Operate and monitor advanced screening equipment, including X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors.
- Enforce security directives, regulations, and procedures to maintain a secure airport environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with passengers to resolve security issues and provide assistance.
- Document screening activities and accurately report suspicious behavior or items to supervisors.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while standing for extended periods.
- Collaborate with fellow team members to ensure efficient passenger flow and security operations.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and obtain a security clearance.
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- No disqualifying criminal history (felonies and certain misdemeanors may be disqualifying).
