Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using advanced X-ray and detection equipment
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to ensure compliance with TSA protocols
- Monitor airport operations and respond to security incidents with calm professionalism
- Operate TSA technology including CT scanners, trace detection systems, and explosive detection devices
- Enforce airport access control procedures and verify passenger identification documents
- Document security incidents and maintain detailed activity reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
- Ability to pass federal background investigation and drug screening
- Valid U.S. driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn security software systems
