Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and baggage using TSA-provided X-ray scanners, metal detectors, and explosive trace detection equipment
- Conduct thorough physical pat-downs and bag searches as mandated by security protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity with appropriate escalation
- Operate advanced imaging technology and communication systems to maintain checkpoint efficiency
- Enforce TSA regulations while maintaining courteous and professional interactions with travelers
- Document security incidents and operational reports using TSA-approved systems
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn TSA technology systems
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Clear communication skills in English (additional languages valued)
