Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical pat-downs and baggage inspections per TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and detect potential threats through visual inspection
- Communicate with passengers regarding security procedures and regulations
- Document security incidents and submit detailed reports
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Maintain security equipment and report malfunctions immediately
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
- Valid U.S. driver's license (if required for position)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Basic computer literacy and customer service skills
- Ability to pass TSA's security screening certification
