Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and advanced imaging technology
- Conduct pat-down searches and bag inspections to detect prohibited items
- Operate TSA-provided equipment including millimeter wave scanners, ETDs, and trace detection systems
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity protocols
- Communicate security procedures clearly to diverse travelers
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and drug screening
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to stand for extended periods (4+ hours) in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to handle stressful situations professionally
- Basic computer proficiency for reporting systems
- Must pass TSA's security screening assessment
