Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual search techniques
- Monitor security checkpoints and enforce TSA regulations with professionalism and authority
- Operate advanced security technology including explosive detection systems
- Provide excellent customer service while explaining security procedures to travelers
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security alerts
- Participate in mandatory security training and certification programs
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Effective communication skills in English (additional languages a plus)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must complete TSA Security Screening Certification training
