Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage for prohibited items using X-ray machines and manual detection techniques
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to ensure compliance with security protocols
- Monitor airport operations and identify suspicious behavior or potential security threats
- Operate advanced screening equipment and maintain proper calibration and maintenance
- Provide excellent customer service while enforcing TSA regulations with professionalism
- Document security incidents and submit detailed reports to supervisory personnel
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during emergency situations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass thorough background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Willingness to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
