Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on baggage using advanced X-ray machines and manual search techniques
- Conduct pat-down searches and explosive trace detection procedures
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities per protocol
- Operate electronic screening equipment and perform equipment maintenance checks
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Document security incidents and submit detailed reports
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a TSA security clearance
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Pass TSA background check and drug screening
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn screening technologies
- Excellent communication skills and customer service demeanor
