Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced passenger and baggage screening using X-ray machines, metal detectors, and trace detection equipment
- Identify potential security threats through visual inspection and explosive detection protocols
- Manage security checkpoints efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Operate TSA-provided screening technology including advanced imaging systems and ETDs
- Enforce TSA regulations and procedures with professionalism and discretion
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during security incidents
- Maintain accurate documentation of screening activities and security reports
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- Pass thorough background investigation and security clearance
- Ability to obtain and maintain TSA Security Officer certification
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
