As a Security Screener, you will play a critical role in securing the nation's transportation systems. You will be responsible for the security of passengers, property, and cargo at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Responsibilities
- Screening Operations: Operate X-ray screening equipment and advanced imaging technology to detect prohibited items in carry-on and checked baggage.
- Passenger Screening: Conduct thorough screening of passengers, including pat-downs and physical searches when necessary, ensuring a safe and secure travel environment.
- Security Protocols: Adhere strictly to TSA security directives and regulations, maintaining high standards of safety and security at all times.
- Customer Service: Assist travelers with accessibility needs and provide exceptional customer service, resolving inquiries and de-escalating situations professionally.
- Equipment Maintenance: Monitor screening equipment for proper operation and report any malfunctions or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other security personnel and supervisors to ensure smooth airport operations and rapid processing of passengers.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Background Check: Must be able to pass a federal background investigation, including fingerprinting and drug screening.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to pass a medical examination and possess the physical agility to stand for long periods, walk, lift, bend, and reach.
- Availability: Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays to support airport operations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately.
